Windstil - Torus

Torus is a hub for artistic activities spanning and connecting different generations.              An initiative of Rik Claeys, Anouk Meutice, Leonie Overmeire, Jef Potargent en Desiré Schoutsen.

WINDSTIL is an (art) project centered on experimentation and connection.

Standing along the old Roman road in Asse Ter Heide is a windmill that, after centuries of grinding, turning, and sweeping, has come to rest. For over 200 years, it was the beating heart of the surrounding area. Today, the mill breathes new life as a hub for artistic activities that bring different generations together.

WINDSTIL takes as its starting point the idea of philosopher Maurice Merleau-Ponty: "No thing, no side of a thing, reveals itself without actively concealing other things or sides."

Over the course of the two evenings, food, music, the spoken word, and art come together in an ever-changing rhythm. The culinary experience is provided by A4 (so you can look forward to an extensive dinner), the music is performed by Lou De Smet and Radicchio, Akimbo provides the spoken word, and works by Peter Schoutsen and Bart Haegeman are on display.
